	CHICAGO, Dec. 10, 2004 – Ronald B. Berggren, MD, who was instrumental in reorganizing the Institutional Requirements for sponsoring institutions, has been named as the recipient of the 2005 John C. Gienapp Award, presented by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
Dec 8	New edition of ACGME data book available for sale
	CHICAGO, December 8, 2004 – The newest edition of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s data book is now available. Accreditation Data System Graduate Medical Education Data has 45 pages of tables, charts and graphs with aggregate information on programs, residents, and sponsoring institutions for academic year 2003-04.
Oct 28	New England Journal of Medicine studies indicate that duty hour limits benefit residents and reduce errors - Studies validate the ACGME's decision to implement duty hour standards
	CHICAGO, October 28, 2004 – Two studies published in the Oct. 28, 2004 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine support the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education's decision to implement duty hour standards for residents.

	CHICAGO, Aug. 16, 2004 – The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education is pleased with the U.S. District Court’s decision to dismiss a resident antitrust lawsuit that challenged the legality of the National Resident Matching Program.
Jul 29	ACGME compiles one-year data on duty hour standards
	CHICAGO, July 29, 2004 – One year after the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education implemented its common duty hour standards for residents, data indicate that most programs are in compliance. The data also shows that programs are using innovative scheduling and staffing adjustments to comply with the duty hour standards.
