Guidelines for Journalists Attending ACGME Meetings and Conferences
- Attendance is limited to one journalist per publication; exceptions must be cleared through the communications manager.
- Persons granted press badges must be working journalists; public relations, marketing or sales professionals or persons in other non-journalism positions will not be issued press badges. Journalists may not distribute marketing materials to attendees or promote products or services at the conference.
- Journalists must register in advance and provide a business card or a letter or intent written on company letterhead. Journalists will receive a press badge and conference materials at the registration desk.
- Speakers will be informed in advance that journalists may be in attendance at sessions.
- Information reported from conference sessions may be used only for news purposes, it may not as part of marketing or promotional materials for products or services.
- The ACGME reserves the right to close conference sessions to journalists.
