David A. Forstein, DO, FACOOG

Dr. Forstein, who was most recently associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, has a long history as a medical educator. He served as clerkship director at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and residency director at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. He was vice chair of clinical operations for the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the Greenville Health System, and directed the clinical service at the largest provider for women's health care in South Carolina.

Dr. Forstein has also held clinical faculty appointments at Clemson University School of Health Research, the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine. A widely published author, Dr. Forstein has worked on a number of research projects, including a recent NIH-funded study.

A leader in the profession, Dr. Forstein is the Vice Chair of the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation. He is a former president of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists and former chair of the Medical Education Foundation of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

A 1990 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Forstein completed a rotating internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Pennsylvania Hospital. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
