GME Records for Closed Programs

If a residency or fellowship program is closing, the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) can assist with retention of resident/fellow records.

FSMB makes such records available to hospitals, licensing entities, and other credentials-verifying organizations.

FSMB is well known for permanent physician records retention through its Board Action Data Bank (since 1912), USMLE Step 3 examination, and the Federation Credentials Verification Service.
