Renewal 2025: A GME Retreat Fostering Compassionate Leadership and Personal Growth

Embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and leadership development at Renewal 2025. Renewal 2025 is a three-day retreat offering a unique approach to professional development for the graduate medical education (GME) community, transcending conventional methods by focusing on deepening self-understanding and revitalizing personal awareness.
Join GME colleagues in exploring the best ways to listen, live, and lead with integrity, fostering courage in one’s professional journey. Improve GME leadership skills by developing authentic, compassionate, and respectful leadership that creates alignment and shared purpose. Continuing medical education (CME) credit is available.
Drawing on more than 20 years of widely praised retreats for ACGME Courage to Teach, Courage to Lead, and Coordinator Awardees, this experience is intended to broaden the availability of the acclaimed work of educator Parker J. Palmer and the Center for Courage & Renewal to the entire GME community. Renewal 2025 includes:
- Large- and small-group sessions
- Classic teachings
- Poetry and personal stories to reflect on experiences as healers, teachers, and leaders.
- New approaches to listening and asking questions, enabling participants to be fully present with themselves, their residents and fellows, their colleagues, and their patients.
Renewal 2025 promises to provide opportunities to better understand oneself and one’s role within the GME community. Rediscover the heart of GME while navigating unprecedented health care challenges with resilience and renewed energy.

Retreat Details
Renewal 2025 will be held September 10-12, 2025, at Hyatt Regency Tamaya in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.
The cost of the retreat will be $1,600, and covers meals, lodging, and all programming, but not travel.
12.75 CME credit hours will be available for this event.
Note that space Is limited to provide a more engaging experience.
