The ACGME this week again presented awards at its Annual Educational Conference, recognizing noteworthy achievements from a wide range of talented graduate medical education professionals. The awards included 26 individuals and three institutions.

The ACGME welcomed attendees back to the first in-person Annual Educational Conference since 2020. Thursday featured multiple Full-Day Courses, tailored to specific roles and functions in GME, a networking event for coordinators, a reception for residents and fellows, the annual Marvin R. Dunn Welcoming Poster Reception and Exhibitor Kick-Off, and a celebratory dinner for awardees.

 Dr. Nancy DeSousa and colleagues developed a longitudinal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) curriculum for pediatrics residents to understand the residents’ experience of microaggressions as part of ongoing efforts to improve the sense of inclusion within the Pediatrics Department. They presented their work in the Poster Hall at the 2022 ACGME Annual Educational Conference, held virtually March 30-April 1, 2022.

In the Featured Plenary “Roe v. Wade and the Future of Graduate Medical Education,” health and legal experts discussed the Dobbs v. Jackson ruling’s ramifications on graduate medical education (GME).

In a Featured Plenary at #ACGME2023 entitled Nutrition and Health: Developing a GME Framework, Kate Sommerfeld, MPA, David Seres, MD, ScM, PNS, FASPEN, and Jaclyn Lewis Albin, MD, CCMS, DipABLM discussed the importance of nutrition and engaging with local populations to improve nutrition education.
