ACGME statement on medical education racial discrimination allegations
The ACGME has become aware of several serious allegations of racial bias and discrimination in medical education. The ACGME has called upon the graduate medical education (GME) community to eliminate racism, implicit bias, and other forms of discrimination from GME, as well as from the greater society, via several statements and through the work of its Department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Different Ways of Knowing

Physician educators must explore ways to teach physicians to practice with excellence, compassion, and justice, Dr. Arno K. Kumagai argued at the most recent Baldwin Seminar, the first of the 2019-2020 season. His talk, Reflection, Dialogue and Different Ways of Knowing: Beyond the Competency Paradigm in Medical Education, took place June 26 at the ACGME offices in Chicago, and was livestreamed.

#ACGME2023 Day 1 Recap

The ACGME welcomed attendees back to the first in-person Annual Educational Conference since 2020. Thursday featured multiple Full-Day Courses, tailored to specific roles and functions in GME, a networking event for coordinators, a reception for residents and fellows, the annual Marvin R. Dunn Welcoming Poster Reception and Exhibitor Kick-Off, and a celebratory dinner for awardees.
