The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) recently released its summary report of the Pursuing Excellence in Clinical Learning Environments (Pursuing Excellence) Pathway Leaders Patient Safety Collaborative.

More than 300 designated institutional officials, institutional coordinators, and other members of the graduate medical education (GME) community attended the ACGME’s third National Learning Community of Sponsoring Institutions and Clinical Learning Environments meeting, Building Connections, Leading Change, at the ACGME Conference Center and online October 8 and 9, 2024.

Nine Pathway Leaders will form a Patient Safety Collaborative focused on creating and testing a framework for residents and fellows to engage with their learning environments in promoting a culture of safety.

The Version 2.0 of CLER Pathways to Excellence: Expectations for an Optimal Clinical Learning Environment to Achieve Safe and High-Quality Patient Care, has been published.

This second report provides insight into changing clinical learning environments, and shows improvements in resident and fellow engagement in patient safety. The first report was released in 2016.

The ACGME, in partnership with other notable organizations, is proud to honor exceptional work in graduate medical education through joint awards.

The ACGME presented the second in a series of webinars designed around the findings of Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) Program site visits related to the six CLER Focus Areas.

The collaborative is third in a series to engage residents and fellows, improve their ability to provide quality health care.
