Submit a session proposal for the 2024 ACGME Annual Educational Conference and share best practices and innovations with the graduate medical education (GME) community! Proposals for conference concurrent sessions, the Coordinator Forum Full-Day Course, and the Osteopathic Recognition Full-Day Course will be considered.

Accepted sessions will be presented in person at the conference in Orlando, Florida March 7-9, 2024.

TUESDAY! RDE Project Office Hours

The ACGME is pursuing a rural data enhancement (RDE) project to improve the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of GME location data. As part of this project, health systems and consortia will be removed as types of participating sites from the Accreditation Data System. If an ACGME-accredited program lists a health system or consortium as a participating site, ACGME staff members will contact the Sponsoring Institution's designated institutional official and institutional coordinator(s) with options.

NEXT WEEK! National Learning Community of Sponsoring Institutions Meeting Call for Submissions

The ACGME will host its second National Learning Community of Sponsoring Institutions meeting in Chicago and remotely September 19-20, 2023. With opportunities to share and connect with other institutional GME leaders, the meeting will focus on:

  • Transforming education through GME innovation
  • Demonstrating commitment to excellence in patient care
  • Optimizing health systems for learning

The ACGME seeks presentations, workshops, and posters that align with the above pathways. Submissions will be accepted through May 26, 2023.

All JGME content is open access and free to view online at www.jgme.org. JGME encourages digital use of the publication as part of an effort to decrease its environmental impact.

Anyone who works in ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institutions or programs can request a complimentary print subscription using this form. Those currently receiving print copies of JGME who have not filled out this form must fill it out to continue receiving print copies.

NEW! Executive Director and Chair, Review Committee for Orthopaedic Surgery to Hold Office Hours in Utah

Orthopaedic surgery program leaders can meet with the ACGME Review Committee Executive Director and Review Committee Chair during the 2023 American Orthopaedic Association Annual Leadership Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Appointments will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and take place June 15, 2023 at the Grand America Hotel from 6:15-9:00 p.m. Central.

ACGME Seeks Public Member

The following Review Committee seeks its next public member for a six-year term beginning July 1, 2024. Public members share the perspective of the public, foster public accountability, enrich the work of the Review Committee through outside expertise, and create transparency. While nominees cannot be physicians, other health care professionals are permitted if they are not employed by an organization with ACGME-accredited residency or fellowship programs.

ACGME Seeks Transitional Year Review Committee Members

The Transitional Year Review Committee is looking for two new physician members. Candidates must be certified in anesthesiology or surgery through an American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association member board.

Nominations are due by July 1, 2023. The Review Committee will forward its selections to the ACGME Board of Directors for approval. Terms begin July 1, 2024 and end June 30, 2026.

Nominees must be enrolled in an ACGME-accredited residency or fellowship program at the time of the appointment and may not serve more than one year beyond completion of that residency or fellowship.
