Dr. Becky Blankenburg is APPD past president and chair of the Confronting Racism Action Team, and Dr. Pat Poitevien is the APPD’s current president.

Dr. Laura Hanyok is Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education, a member of the Sponsoring Institution’s GME Office, and a member of the team whose initiative is being recognized with the award.

February 7 marked the inaugural session of the National Health Equity Grand Rounds. The event, titled “History of Racism in US Health Care: Root Causes of Today’s Hierarchy and Systems of Power,” is the first of four events scheduled for 2023.
